Archie email problem

18 April 2013 (Updated)

On Wednesday April 17th, between 11:00 to and 12:30 GMT, Archie was unable to send any email , due to a problem with our external provider.

Users actively trying to send a mail (eg for workflow tickets, or Licence for Publication Forms) should have received an error message at the time. But please be aware that some of the emails not being sent could be automatic notifications about reviews or workflow tasks. We are currently analyzing our logs to see if it is possible to recreate the details of the failed messages.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Your IMS team

Message from new IMS Team Manager

16 August 2012

I'm now in post as the Information Management System (IMS) Team Manager at the Nordic Cochrane Centre based in Denmark. In this capacity I will be leading the team developing the Collaboration's two central software tools, Archie and RevMan.

My primary interest in this role is enabling the IMS Team to provide the best possible software in support of the Collaboration’s objectives. Therefore, if you have any software-related ideas or issues for the Collaboration then please direct them to me in the first instance. For ongoing projects please continue to communicate with my IMS colleagues, but do copy me in so I can keep an overview of the projects to enable me to project manage and support the team.

To those of you that don't know me; I have been with the Cochrane Collaboration since 2005, working as the Managing Editor with the Cochrane Pain, Palliative and Supportive Care review group, and have also worked with the Cochrane Consumers and Communication review group, based in Melbourne, as temporary cover as a Managing Editor during 2010. I have been involved as a member with several committees within the Collaboration including the previous Editorial Management Advisory Group (EMAG) and Co-convenor for the Archie Development Advisory Committee (ADAC), both of which communicate directly with the IMS team.

I will be attending the Auckland Colloquium this year, and will be available at the Cochrane Exchange. Do get in touch if you'd like to arrange to meet with me there.

I'm really looking forward to working in the post as IMS Team Manager and supporting this highly skilled team as well as working with you all in my new role.

Jessica Thomas
