RevMan 5 download and installation
RevMan 5 is available for download (current version: 5.2.5). Read the instructions carefully before doing so
Before downloading, please note:
- RevMan support and Archie accounts are only available to registered Cochrane authors.
- Your feedback is essential. Please report any problems you find using either "Report a problem" in the Help menu of RevMan or the Problem Reporting Form on this site..
Step 1: Download the installation file
RevMan exists in two editions based on different versions of the Java platform. The two editions have identical functionality, but the Java 6 edition is somewhat faster and has a better 'look and feel'.
Download the file that matches your operating system:
|Windows||Linux||Mac OS X|
Java 6 version for 10.5 (Leopard) on Intel CPU, 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and later.
For OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard) on a non-intel CPU, you need to download the Java 5 version
Step 2: Run the installer
Important: You need to be using an account that has sufficient permission to install software on the computer.
Note for OS X users: The most recent versions of OS X do not come with Java included; you will automatically be prompted to install Java before continuing with the RevMan installation.
Note for Linux users:
- RevMan's automatic update feature may only work fully if you are installing the software as the root user.
Step 3: Go through the installation wizard
Step 4: Run RevMan
You can now begin using RevMan.
To facilitate distribution of RevMan on CD, a CD image has been prepared that contains the installation files for all platforms plus GRADEProfiler and other utility programs and files. The image is in ISO format, and can be written to CD-R media by most recording software.
Download the file: RevMan 5.2.0 ISO image (154 MB).
Note: You need to use software that can write an ISO image to a CD, e.g. Nero or ISO Recorder (free). Simply copying the file to a CD doesn't produce a useful result for the end user.
