3. Question of the week: We have identified a new review team to
prepare and update a protocol which we withdrew from publication and
subsequently made Inactive in Archie. Should I change the status of the
original protocol record in Archie to Active or create a new record in
Archie for the new review team to develop the protocol?
1. Report on Archie quarterly module submissions for The Cochrane Library 2009, Issue 2 (from Michelle Ames, Production Controller, John Wiley & Sons)
Wiley collected data for all Cochrane entities from Archie at the
quarterly submission time and emailed feedback reports to all CRGs.
Thirteen CRGs requested late changes, so their modules were unlocked to
allow these to be made, and then re-collected. There were no groups
with "Action Required" in their original reports.

3. Question of the week
Question: We have identified a new review team to prepare and update a protocol which we withdrew from publication and subsequently made Inactive in Archie. Should I change the Status of the original protocol record in Archie to Active or create a new record in Archie for the new review team to develop the protocol?
Answer: If you want to archive the original version(s) of the protocol in The Cochrane Library, you must use the same Archie record and create a new citation version of the protocol before you release it for publication. However, if you do not want the original protocol(s) to be archived with the new, updated protocol then you should create a new record for the protocol in Archie. However, it is important to note that when you activate a protocol that was previously Inactive so that the new review team can update it, if the update is not ready for publication by the next quarterly module submission, the previously published withdrawn protocol will be republished. In such circumstances, it will therefore be important to update the reason for withdrawal in the published notes section to explain why the previously published protocol has been republished as Withdrawn.
