Changes to the Review Headers and Publication Icons

Reason for Change
In the 2009 production system, the reviews (including header text) were reprocessed and republished each quarter. This allowed a new review to have a header with the text "Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Issue 4, 2009 (Status in this issue: New)" for the first issue; the review was then reprocessed and republished in the next issue with the text "Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Issue 4, 2009 (Status in this issue: Unchanged)".
The 2010 production system means that the header text must reflect the review's status and cannot change until the content of the review is changed and republished. The 2009 header text includes a hyperlink that readers can click to learn about the meaning of the various dates and statuses. The 2010 header text is self-explanatory, which means that readers do not need to 'link out' for further information; as a consequence therefore we will provide an improved experience for people using the PDF offline or in print.
Changes to protocol and review headers in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR)
Protocol and review headers have been slightly re-worded (specifically the status and publication date information). The header will now reflect the review’s most recent status and cannot change until the content of the review is changed and republished.

Publication Icons (in CDSR)
Users will see some different status icons in the search results and browse feature.
Publication icons are used to help guide end users through the CDSR content. The online publication icons will be displayed for one issue; for example, a new review will have the orange ‘new’ icon in Issue 1, but the icon will be removed when Issue 2 is published.

Articles will now retain their current status until the authors do update their article; for example "New search for studies and content updated (no change to conclusions) published in Issue 2, 2009". | ||
