Non-CRG entities
Support and Training for Super Users of Fields, Methods Groups and Centres
Pilot of structured training and support for non-CRGs
As part of a phased pilot scheduled to run from November 2010 to June 2011, the IMS Support team will provide structured training for Super Users in Fields, Methods Groups and Centres, and establish a regional point of contact for ongoing support. Super Users are the people who are responsible for creating and maintaining their Entity's records in Archie.
Structured training
During the pilot period the IMS Support team will provide structured initial training for Super Users using a series of IMS webinars. The webinars will cover the topics listed in this pdf file, but there will also be opportunities to cover other areas in response to requests from the participants. The webinars can be attended by several participants from the same entity or by several participants from different entities. We will start by running webinar(s) for Super Users of Fields in November 2010, followed by Methods Groups and finally Centres. If you are a Super User and would like to receive this training, please register your interest by sending an email to support@ims.cochrane.org.
Ongoing support
Currently, as core staff of a non-CRG, you can always send an email to support@ims.cochrane.org to request support. This service will continue during the course of the pilot. Between November 2010 and June 2011 you can also contact your IMS Support person, who will be the existing IMS Support team member who already provides support to CRGs in your regional area (see the IMS Support Team page). The name of the IMS Support person for your entity is displayed in Archie, under the 'Info' tab of your entity's properties - which you can open in Archie by clicking on your entity name at the upper right-hand side of the screen.
Super Users' Guide
Non-CRG Super Users' Guide to Archie
We have compiled a Super User Guide for non-CRGs, which introduces Super Users (and others) to the key functionalities in Archie relevant to their entity type. The Guide can be used for self-training or as a reference tool (if you have attended a webinar). We of course will welcome any feedback you have on the Guide.
IMS Bulletins for non-CRGs
We are publishing regular IMS Bulletins for non-CRGs during the pilot period - see the index of the Bulletins. The Bulletins highlight features in Archie relevant to non-CRGs.
Note
The pilot will be evaluated by surveying Super Users of non-CRGs in July 2011. If the pilot proves successful, a proposal to continue the structured training and support will be considered by the Training Working Group.
The pilot will not cover training in RevMan. For queries about such training (for RevMan trainers as opposed to authors), please contact Steve McDonald at Steve.McDonald@monash.edu
